Type the name of the file (in my case it's "N5110A11 EXE"), so I put "N5110A11.EXE" and hit enter.On that window, type "dir" to know the name of your executable file with the BIOS update. Boot while spamming f12, then choosing the "USB storage device" option.Insert the pendrive that has the BIOS update.Take it off (maybe clean it with a cloth, I mean I did just to be sure) and put it back.(It's the small, round battey almost the size of a coin, should be hard to miss). Disassemble laptop 'til you get to your CMOS battery.Remove everything connected to it (if there's any). There are youtube tutorials on how to do it, I suggest watching those as I did).Īfter putting it all back, I tried to update the BIOS again using a bootable pendrive, and thank heck it finally went past that 12% !!! I am currently proceeding to upgrade to Windows 10 as I'm writing this comment. Was able to fix it by performing a BIOS reset by removing and putting back the CMOS battery (you have to open up your laptop so please take necessary precautions.
